Sat, 15 March 2008 Tasty Dog in the Kingdom: This Cambodian Life #29. Delilah recounts her motorbike trip to Pailin, former Khmer Rouge stronghold, which included a stop in Battambang, as well as a huge number of stops for fixing the motorbike and asking for directions. She perhaps includes a bit too much of the motorbike health issues but it was rather, oh, consuming for those 3 days. But you also get a bit about mines, scenery, road conditions (again, not terribly interesting for the listener but consuming!), maps and directions and what hell looks like on top of a mountain in Pailin. www.tastydoginthekingdom.com or questions/comments to tastydog@gmail.com. The opening music is another gem from Sen Sisamuth and Pbain Roan, singing tra jiek jet bomnong. It’s about LOVE, and something about keeping a cool heart when it comes to anger and jealousy. (yes, I had someone else tell me what the song was about!). But note the guitar solo at the beginning. Cool, huh? Comments[0] |
